Get it right!

At the start of 1944, an order was issued for all branches of the service to discard the silver NCO Tresse (braid) on their collars and shoulder boards and replace it with the subdued gray type. As one might imagine, due to supply problems, this was easier said than done... you still saw a mix of silver and gray Tresse on German NCO's.

These are identical to the boards we used to carry "from Germany." (We found the source that supplies the German company). These are the best repro SS boards made: we even opted for hand-stitched buttonholes as is often seen on Waffen SS uniforms made in SS-run facilities..... They are black wool on top, field grey underneath and feature wool piping.
