M37 Field-Gray Wool Trousers

Nearly identical to the trousers worn by the Kaiser's troops during the First World War, these were used by the Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS during the Second.  They were issued throughout the War, although they were largely superseded by the M43 Keilhosen during the latter part of the conflict. (We have seen originals dated as late as 1944).  In contrast to the M43 "Keilhosen" idealized by many reenactors, these pants feature straight leg construction and lack the seat reinforcements and belt loops.

These reproductions have all the details of the originals.  Button fly, watch pocket with chain hanger, adjustment belt on the rear, high waist, right rear pocket, and button down slash hip pockets.  Buttons are either plastic or dished metal.  (Both are correct) 

Sizing:  M37's are loose fitting and the rear adjustment belt allow you to take up to 4 inches out of the waist when they are tightened down.  Measure your waist around your navel as they are high waisted.

M43 Field-Gray Wool Trousers
Reproduction of the field-grey German uniform trousers issued to the Army, Waffen-SS and Luftwaffe ground units.  In late 1942 or early 1943, these trousers began to replace the M37 trousers used previously.  They incorporated a number of improvements learned from 3 years of combat experience.  The most notable changes from the earlier trousers were tapered ankles to fit the leggings better, reinforced seat for improved durability, and belt loops.  (In order to lower one's trousers while wearing suspenders requires removing the equipment and the coat:  This was found to be rather dangerous in certain situations.) Our reproductions duplicate the original garment to the last detail. The watch pocket, corded keyhole buttonholes, side-adjustment tapes and twill tape stirrups are all reproduced.

Sizing: Keilhosen are loose fitting and the side adjustment belts allow you to take up to 6 inches out of the waist when they are tightened down. Before you freak, just remember, this system has worked for the Army (and Marine Corps) for 50 years.  Measure your waist around your navel as the Keilhosen are high waisted.
