Original german fieldgear

Note: We guarantee these items to be original WWII (unless otherwise stated) but we do not warranty them for use and abuse. They are 60+ years old, so if you go run around the woods with them, you may well break something. That's your problem.

D-GG-4 Y-straps: Late war Y-straps- very good condition. These have been oiled a bit more than the other pair, but are in equally good shape. Just darker in color. The RB numbers are very faint, and impossible to picture- they go across the main straps where the stitching runs for the large D-rings. $295

D-GG-5 Y-Straps: Very nice condition late War Y-straps. These are intact, and have the simplified one-piece hooks at the front. The leather is near perfect and these could actually be used. These straps are RB numbered. Sold

D-GG-4 Tropical A-Frame: Nice original (not a Czech "peepa special") Sturmgepack. Totally "textbook", no repairs, used but V.G. condition. This one is made from a mix of olive and khaki webbing. Appears to be dated 1942- the markings are tough to read. $725

D-GG-3 "Tropical" A-Frame bag: Despite the name, these were actually issued in all theaters. Unissued and perfect save for a few storage stains on the back and a bit of dirt on the front. Marked, but illegible. It's a company name and a town, but the first letters are smudged. $195

D-GG-2 Mint M40 Breadbag: Crispy, unissued Heer/ Waffen SS breadbag. This is as nice as they come- brand spanking new. Illegible RB number on the center belt support strap. The finish on the leather tab holding the left d-Ring has a small crack- otherwise this is flawless. $125

D-GG-1 Bakelite Canteen: Introduced to conserve steel and aluminum. The bakelite canteens are often considered to be "tropical" issue items, but in fact they were used in all theaters. This one is in nice shape- the body is marked "HRE 42" and the cap is "HRE 43". Bakelite flask and cup with web straps. The only detraction is that the small leather strap at the neck is dry and broken, but this has no impact on how it displays.Sold

MG 34/42 Ammo Cans: Postwar Yugoslavian military ammo cans. These are designed to hold 250 rds. of 8mm MG ammunition. (I put them on the original page for lack of a better place so don't have a cow.) These are 98% identical to WWII German- the only difference (besides the lack of a waffenamt) is a slight difference in the way the tip of the release latch is formed. These are all in very good to excellent condition, most if not all having the leather pads on the handles. To make them "spot on" WWII, they just need to be repainted panzer gray or dark yellow. Lastly, these all have some cosmoline (storage grease) on them. It can be removed with WD40 or paint thinner and a rag. It helps if you leave them in the sun for awhile first- heat softens the grease.
Each $25 or 4/$100

Austrian Shovels: Point nosed shovel made for the Austrian Army, and utilized by the Wehrmacht. I had intended to get the unique single loop cover made for these, but it just never seems to happen. These are original period shovels. The ones I examined closely had no discernible dates, but they are old. If you look closely in original photos, these are not terribly uncommon. Where to find the covers, I don't know. $50

Klappspaten: Original issue German manufacture folding shovels. These all have dates and Waffenamts, but they are under a layer of medium green paint applied by the Norwegian army after the War. Good to very good condition. Originals were unpainted: the metal parts were blued and the wood was bare. So far we have found that an hour or so spent scrubbing with acetone will remove the paint. However, be careful as the bakelite nut does not like sandpaper, paint stripper or chiseling. We are not responsible for shovels damaged by customers trying to remove the paint!

Markings: All are "marked". All appear to have a 3 letter maker code. Some are dated, some are waffenamted, some both, some one or the other. To help prevent coronaries, we will remove the paint enough to expose the markings. So far, all that have dated are are dated '41 or '42. Mostly "agv". No guarantee of anything other than them being original W.W.II German and serviceable. People get completely silly over markings...
