Product Description

Original, US WWII issue steel helmets, front seam, swivel bale, repainted the correct olive drab color and fitted with khaki web chinstraps. Liners are genuine WWII* US military issue, stripped and refitted with all new webbing, sweatband, chinstrap and nape strap. This is the standard issue helmet for all soldiers and Marines in WWII, except paratroopers and paramarines.

*A few may be the postwar US models, but they have been refitted with the front eyelet and khaki suspension. This means, aside from the tiny stamp in the crown, they are 100% identical to WWII manufactured liners. Trying to offer a choice of makers or dates of liners simply isn't feasible.

-WWII Front seam shell (no choice of makers or heat treatment batch numbers)
-New, ATF repro WWII chinstraps bartacked on
-WWII liner (no maker choice, some are now 1952 Micarta marked, but identical to WWII including the eyelet)
-New, ATF repro webbing
-New, ATF repro sweatband
-New, ATF repro nape strap
-New, ATF repro liner chinstrap

WARNING!

We cannot guarantee these to be completely free of dings, small cracks
, scratches, or rough spots.

All U.S. helmets are assembled using military surplus steel pots and liners. These are 70+ years old. They are not mint, flawless, stored in a shock-proof-vault-just-for-u. Although we repaint and refurbish them, some evidence of their past use is certain. Small dents, dings or stress cracks are the norm. They are in good to very good shape, but not flawless.

US Helmet "Sizes"

There is only one size! Unlike German helmets and modern day Kevlars, the M-1 M-1C and M-2 helmets and liners come in only one size. The sweatband in the liner adjusts to fit your head via a slide buckle like some baseball caps. Thus, one size fits all. If you get a helmet and it's too tight, you simply need to adjust the sweatband. It's very, very simple.
