Tubular woven head scarf, standard issue to all German troops. In early 2013 we finally acquired an unissued original- they are actually one of the rarest pieces of German fieldgear to find. These are exceedingly handy and most were used up after the War. This pattern is a very dark fieldgray color. The only change we made from the original was to enlarge them slightly so they cover your neck more completely. These were made only for ATF, by a US woolen mill, copied from an original sample.
We used a 50/50 wool poly blend to keep the cost down and prevent neck burn. (The all wool sample was like 50 grit sandpaper). The originals are a wool/ rayon blend.

Approx 17" x 10" when relaxed. This will easily fit all head sizes without strangling those of us with large skulls...
