Same as the 1st Pattern except for the use of Lift-the-Dot fasteners instead of regular press snaps. This change was made shortly before the introduction of the 3rd pattern cover with the "dog eared" flaps. These covers were unique to the Marines and lacked markings and felt lining of the Army type. The hook allows the cover to be carried on the pistol, cartridge or BAR belts.
