This is the one D-Day accessory that has not been properly reproduced until now. Reproduction of the waterproof bags issued to troops engaged in amphibious landings. These were copied directly from original bags- 9.5" x 51", olive tinted plastic. They are about the same thickness as a "Ziploc" bag, maybe a bit heavier. These are large enough to fit all US small arms: M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, Springfields, BAR's, M1919, and Thompsons.
1. These are very hard to find in period photos- one of the Robert Capa D-Day photos appears to show clear bags- but it's hard to be sure since they are at a distance and it's black & white. Every original bag we have encountered (several hundred, dated 1943, 1944, and 1945) were this color. So that's what we copied.
2. We tried marking these, but the ink and the plastic did not "get along" very well, so they are not stamped.
