Combat worn WWII A-frame. This one has leather straps which one encounters less than those with the web type. This one is made with several different shades and weaves of webbing. No maker mark is visible.
The material used to stiffen the frame, sandwiched inside the webbing, is the correct. Original A-frames do not use leather or rawhide but rather a thin synthetic material of some sort, typically in two layers, black or brown in color. This is one place even really good fakes screw up- they never have the right material inside.
All of the stitching matches- meaning there's no repaired or altered points, and the zig-zag stitching on the lower corners where the hooks are sewn in is hand done.
The leather straps are a "pair"- same number of adjustment holes, same length, each with two keepers, but they are installed unevenly by about 3cm. (One higher than the other.)
The webbing on the bottom hooks is not sewn as was normal, but this can be found occasionally on late Aframes, especially those made from cannibalized parts.
All four hooks "match" in shape and wear. There are no markings. Rivets are blackened steel.
