Polyspot Camo Trousers*:

Product Description

Some troops, most often officers or NCO's, had uniforms custom made. Contemporary accounts state that the soldier provided the fabric, payment and his idea and then the tailor made it happen. Wartime photos and surviving originals show a wide variety of style and cut on these garments. Some were made from a bolt of cloth, others from shelter quarters and a few were modified smocks or parkas.

During the War, such camo uniforms were made from the same fabric as used for smocks and shelter quarters (Zeltbahn) which was a water repellant cotton poplin. This fabric is a bit stiffer than normal uniform cloth (such as that used on "Tropical" uniforms) as it was designed to be water repellant.

Custom made camouflage trousers were typically of a basic design. For our reproductions used the same proportions as the "44 dot" trousers, with straight legs, and simplified belt loops. These have the adjustment tabs at the waist which allow the waist to be tightened. Note: The dark blue color anodizing on the slides is correct and is quite common on original WWII German trousers.

Care: We recommend hand wash cold and hang dry. The buttons do not like machines and the tumbler tends to leave highlights on the camouflage. 100% cotton.
