This is a simplified bayonet frog introduced at some point in 1942-43. Some sources also claim they were "SS issue" but that's likely another reenactor erotic fantasy. They are however, the only type of German bayonet frog that will allow the bayonet scabbard to fit in the loop of the folding shovel carrier.

These reproductions are made with heavy 6-8 oz. veg tanned leather, flesh side out, and hand sewn with linen cord like originals. RB numbered.
