The issue.

Whoops- the contractor got confused. They made these USMC shade khaki cotton twill, but used the Army "PX" style pattern which has a less curved profile at the front and rear of the cap. Also, they forgot to install the eyelets for the screw-on EGA insignia.
Here's the color difference
between these and the Army caps.

When worn, the profile is not terribly obvious and one can easily poke a small hole and attach the cap device.
Or, one can use them as an Army cap- the shade is just slightly darker than the US Army khakis.
