Original German vehicle first aid boxes- Verbandkasten. These were overpainted sometime after the War, but traces of original paint (most or all were tan) remain. The contents labels inside inside are still there, but also painted over. Most are in very good+ shape, with one or two needing a bit of TLC on their latches.
Verlagkopf in Germany has stencils and reproduction contents labels for restoration.

Could the green paint be removed to recover the original underneath? I don't know. We haven't tried, but in other cases (ammo cans, MG mounts) the postwar paint is sometimes much less resilient than the WWII finish to mineral spirits, lacquer thinner, acetone and the like. I have seen a few "miracles" over the years.
