Jacket Fit: This is a loose fitting, very baggy field uniform- it was not intended to be "parade wear".
Trouser Sizing: Our trouser waist sizes are 2" inches larger than the marked size, just like most blue jeans or casual pants which are typically 2-3" over the marked size. This is called vanity sizing and has been around since the early 2000's. Sorry if it hurts anyone's feelings. Thus our size 34 will measure about 36".
So, what size do I wear?
1. If one wears a "size 34" in Gap jeans, Docker's, etc, etc, then our size 34 will work.
2. Suit pants, some work pants and original WWII trousers are usually actual waist measure. So, if one wears a 34 in originals, or their waist tape measures 34 inches, then they can wear our 32.
3. When in doubt, find a pair of denim or cotton trousers (non-stretch fabric) measure the waist and see which of ours is closest.
Care: We recommend hand wash cold/ hang dry for longest life and least fade. If one does use a machine, flip the garment inside out to prevent damage to and annoying racket from the tack buttons.
Shrinkage warning: Like all cotton pants (or shirts) the inseam will shrink when washed. Our inseams are accurate, 33" when new. Final shrinkage is 1.5-2 inches on the inseams. Do not hem them until after they have been washed!
WASHED OR ALTERED GARMENTS ARE NOT RETURNABLE.
Jackets: These are oversized (just like originals) as they were made to fit over a field jacket. They are a loose fitting, somewhat baggy field uniform- they are not "parade wear".
Trouser Sizing/ Shrinkage: Our trousers are sized like modern pants- they lie to make you feel thinner. They run about one size larger than marked. Levi's, Docker's, and Wranglers are the same way.
So, what size do I wear?
1. If you base your size on Gap jeans, Docker's, etc, etc, and wear a 34 in those, then our 34 will work. (Our "34" measure 35.5 -36 actual).
2. However, if you are basing it on original trousers, suit pants, or a tape measure (which do not lie), then you can wear our 32.
3. The waist does not shrink appreciably when washed.
If you think I'm lying or trying to cover up a mistake, too bad so sad- I'm not. Get a tape measure and see what your waist really is. Or just measure your favorite pants and prove me right.
