Product Description Sizing Information

Second pattern HBT in od#7 (dark shade) jacket used by the US Army, Air Corps, and some Marines. Officially known as the HBT Jacket, "Special", spec. 45D, with the first contracts were issued in the Spring of 1943. These rapidly became the most common fatigue/ field/ combat uniform of the US Army. We copied the originals as closely as possible.

Our jackets feature full cut, breast pockets with side bellows, gas flap, 13 star tack buttons, spec labels, corded button holes and button down cuffs.

Fit: The profile is similar to that of a garbage bag. These are over-sized because the Army designed them to be able to fit over the wool uniform and field jacket. Not surprisingly, soldiers frequently chose their own path and many of them wore these alone, especially in hot weather.

Jackets will have a sleeve length of approximately 35".

For more information and photos of originals see the About HBT Uniforms page.

Note: The size tags and spec labels are marked with their inch sizes like original jackets. Their letter equivalent is in the size dropdown box. Example: Size 48L is identical to a size XL.

Care: We recommend hand wash cold/ hang dry for longest life and least fade. If one does use a machine, flip the garment inside out to prevent damage to and annoying racket from the tack buttons.
